The new SmartyCam 3 Dual is the ultimate Motorsport Camera with two bullet cam. This version is the flagship of the new SmartyCam 3 range and is designed for all racers who want to get the most out of every performance video on track. Dual Full HD camera system, video output, CAN connection , USB-C connection, Ethernet port are just some of the features of the SmartyCam 3 Dual: the most powerful camera in this range delivers great Full HD videos with all the information you need in the overlay. 

The technology of the SmartyCam 3 Dual is housed in a sturdy and splash-proof aluminium casing. Under the side cover is the SD card slot and the USB-C connection via which the individual configuration can be uploaded. The SD card is supported up to a memory size of 2TB. 

As with the previous versions, an external GPS module can be connected to the camera, which allows you to display speed, lap time or position on the track without having to connect to the engine control unit or the data logger. The integrated ECU interface enables the recording of ECU data without having to use an additional data logger.

Housing The AiM SmartyCam 3 Dual has a light blue anodized aluminum housing.	Software | RaceStudio3 With RaceStudio3 the SmartyCam 3 Dual can be configured, the recorded data/videos can be downloaded and analyzed.	Bullet cameras Up to two bullet cameras with a viewing angle of 67°, 84° or 120° can be connected to the SC3 Dual.
Global Shutter CMOS Engine rumble causes vibrations. You will never experience again that seasick “wave effect” you get watching videos recorded by a generic camera when the car rolls at 7,000 RPM.	Automatic Start/Stop SmartyCam 3 Dual switches on/off automatically and starts/stops recording in the same way.	Display The 240x320 TFT display of the SC3 Dual can be used to make settings and check the alignment of the bullet cam.
Video Output SmartyCam 3 Dual features a video Output with SDI interface. It allows to send the video/audio stream to a streamer at 30 or 60 fps to perform a video streaming.	Data Overlay With the data overlay, many parameters such as engine speed, speed, temperatures etc. can be displayed on the video.	Connectors SC3 Dual has a 22-pin DEUTSCH AS connector, 3x SMA connector as well as a USB-C connector.
Buttons The SC3 Dual is operated using the three metal buttons. You can navigate through the menu, switch the camera on/off or switch through the recorded videos.	USB-C connection The data overlay can be sent to the camera via the USB-C connection. It can also be used to charge the battery.

For the SmartyCam 3 Dual, you can freely select which parameters are located at which position in the live video. The following parameters are available for the data overlay:

Engine speed, accelerator position, speed, brake pedal position, temperatures, accelerations, pressures, position on the track, driver and team name, time / date, lap time, gear, team logo

The DataOverlay can be created and modified at any time with the RaceStudio 3 programme and transferred to the camera with the USB-C data transfer cable or SD card.

CMOS-Sensor		Pixels are not everything
With Global Shutter CMOS technology, image distortion is avoided during video recording. This is possible because the images are not captured "pixel by pixel" as conventionally, but simultaneously. The result is footage that is still captured at higher engine speeds without the so-called ripple effect.		The lens and the size of the sensor play an important role for cameras used in motor sports. It should also be robust and avoid distortions caused by fast changes of direction. In addition, there is the problem that both near and far things have to come across sharply in the video.

Memory
1 hour of recording takes about 5GB		The videos of the SmartyCam 3 Dual are compressed to a user-friendly size without losses by the H.264 format. This means that we only need 5 GB for a one-hour Full HD recording. These files are stored on SD cards. With current SD cards that have a storage capacity of up to 2 TB, you can record more than 400 hours of video without having to change the card. When buying an SD card, pay attention to the read and write speeds. We recommend the SanDisk SDXC Extreme Pro / Ultra.

The optics

Normal optics of the SmartyCam HD compact: when mounted in the cross of the roll cage of touring cars and GT cars, the image width is from A-pillar to A-pillar, which means the complete windscreen.		Wide angle of the SmartyCam HD compact: with the same mounting, the field of vision expands from exterior mirror to exterior mirror, with the left one usually covered by the seat.

Mounting

		There is a 1/4 inch thread on the underside of the holder for the bullet camera. This can be used to attach the camera to the vehicle using either a suction cup or pie claw. In addition, the bullet camera can be secured with a wire rope.
