Abmasse AIM Channel Expansion
Did only a few years ago the number of channels of the data logger get too small, you had to replace the Logger against a correspondingly larger one. Today instead (thanks to the CAN-bus-network) you just plug in expansion modules, to increase the number of analogue and digital channels up to currently 64. Expansion modules can be connected to systems which are on single functions confined, such as GPS or Lambda, as well as to expansion, which are connected with further analogue or digital sensors.
For the measurement with thermocouples, potentiometer, pressure sensors or voltage sensor there are analogue Channel Expansions. It also saves a lot of wiring and weight, and therefore also costs, because it is also place near to the sensors. Here also only one cable goes to the next CAN-knot. A typical application is per wheel the recording of the spring deflection and tire temperature at 3 points.
